This year for Memorial Day weekend we (the kids and I) headed out to Maine to go to the Annual LopHop, a gathering of families with children from India. The drive was 5 1/2 hours and we did run into one traffic jam...we arrived at the picnic a little on the late side, but that was OK. We still got our lobster (yum!) and Emily performed a Bollywood dance for everyone. She did great (but she is critical of herself and did not think that she did that well).
On Sunday we went out to eat with lots of the families that stayed over at the Hotel and then headed out to the beach for the afternoon. The kids did enjoy the beach....that is until Melody smashed her toe (we do not think it is broken, but it does have a nasty bruise now) and Steven was hit by a larger wave and took a tumble (head over heals) in the water and might develop an ear infection.
On Monday we drove home....we did hit two traffic jams, but overall the trip was like I wanted, boring.
On Tuesday Emily had her expander put on....they also put brackets on the top teeth and we were not expecting that. The worse part for her is some pain and the fact that she can't talk properly or eat without stuff getting stuck.
